<br />Minutes of the CALOP Meeting <br />nd <br />University City City Hall, 2 Floor Conference Room <br />Thursday, December 11, 2008 <br />6:00 PM <br /> <br /> <br />Commission members present: Ed Nickels, Eleanor Mullin, Eric Friedman, Mae Etta Weston, <br />Gladys Creer, James Reeves, Bob Wilcox, Marla Roach, Dennis Riggs, and City <br />Councilmember L. Michael Glickert. <br />Commission members Absent: Mary Williams <br />Also present: Genise Lay. <br /> <br />Call to Order <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mr. Nickels at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />The commission reviewed minutes from September 25, 2008 and November 13, 2008. A motion <br />to approve the minutes was made by Mr. Wilcox, seconded by Ms. Mullin, and approved. <br /> <br />Presentation by Grantee Liz Lippa <br /> <br />Liz Lippa reported on the progress of her project Hidden Children of the Holocaust. Ms. Lippa <br />reported that she was working on getting copyrights and that most of the editing had been <br />completed. Ms. Lippa also presented a clip of the film to the commission. After Ms. Lippa’s <br />presentation, a motion to approve the third payment was made by Mr. Friedman, seconded by <br />Mr. Reeves, and approved. <br /> <br />Mike Steinberg Extension Request <br /> <br />The commission reviewed a request submitted by Mike Steinberg to grant an extension on the <br />completion date of the film A.O.R. STL. A motion to grant the extension was made by Mr. <br />Wilcox, seconded by Mr. Friedman, and approved. <br /> <br />Election of Officers <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Nickels informed the commission that the election of officers was placed on the agenda. <br />However, after review, it was found that the term of officers was two years, with the election <br />being held in odd years. Mr. Nickels stated that there would be no election, if commissioners <br />agreed. <br /> <br />Ms. Creer also asked that the election/nominations be postponed as she felt there were some <br />gray areas in the positions. She requested that before an election take place that written <br />descriptions of the positions be developed. <br /> <br />Discussion was also held on CALOP processes and how they are developed. Mr. Friedman, <br />Ms. Weston, and Ms. Creer expressed concern for the manner in which some CALOP <br />processes were instituted or changed. <br /> <br />A motion to table the discussion of satisfaction/dissatisfaction with changes in processes was <br />made by Ms. Weston, seconded by Mr. Wilcox, and approved. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
