Photo Show: In Jane’s absence, Cheryl announced the need to schedule a photo show
committee for the following week. Commission members should submit the names of
photographers who they would like to have receive an RFP for the 2006 calendar.

Sculpture Series: The sculpture series judging will be conducted at RAC on Feb. 1 and 2
at 6:30 p.m. Volunteers will bring desert for the participants.

Reading Series/Book Fair: The first reader has been recruited. Two venues have been
recruited for the middle of May. Francine offers to help recruit a third venue. Traci
offers to help with design of mailings. Calla offers to help once her responsibilities for
Returning Artists has concluded.

Returning Artist: Volunteers are needed, especially for Thursday and Friday of Returning
Artist week. Tony Taylor and Mary Schuman have provided a lot of support. The
photographers returning are: Dan Dreyfus, Dirk Fletcher, Matt Gainor, Suzy Gorman,
and Wiley Price. They are excited; we are thrilled. A public event will be held on
Thursday February 17, 7-9 p.m. at RAC. Additional names for the mailing list for the
public event should be sent to Calla or Mary. Tracy suggests providing a .pdf invite for
emailing. Monica McFee has offered many ideas for publicity which the commission
hopes to tap for next year’s returning artist event.

Old Business: RAC is requesting assurance of our continuing involvement in the
Consortium. On a motion duly made and seconded, the commission approved a motion
to donate $250 to the Consortium and to continue our involvement.

New Business: The Gateway Foundation intends to erect a Fish-on-a-bicycle sculpture in
Lewis Park. An art work that takes University City as its subject has been offered to the
commission to purchase on behalf of the city. The Commission agrees that not enough of
its members are present to decide this issue. Questions regarding the purchase, and the
precedent, should be emailed to Cheryl.

After a motion duly made and seconded, the meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
