<br />Arts & Letters Meeting <br />June 12, 2006 <br />At Centennial Commons <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by President Calla Smorodin at 7:05p.m. <br /> <br />Those present were: Leland Barber, Robert Bernstein, Marilyn Cathcart and Barbara <br />Santoro. <br /> <br />Those excused were: Traci Moore-Clay, Emily Kelly, Lisa Mandel, Adelia Parker-Castro, <br />JoAnne Zach, and Phyllis Weber. <br /> <br />Others present were: Stefany Brot Council Liaison and Cheryl Thompson Staff Liaison. <br /> <br />Minutes & Treasures Report <br />There were no minutes to approve nor treasurer’s report to accept. Both will be <br />presented at next month’s meeting. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br />Stefany Brot reported that Francine Brungardt has resigned her seat on the city <br />council. To fill an unexpired council members term the mayor and council will approve <br />the person to fill the seat. The council plans on asking the citizens’ if there is anyone in <br />that ward who would be interested in serving on the council. If so, they may fill out an <br />application and the applications will be reviewed and citizens’ will be interviewed at a <br />Public Meeting. If no one is chosen from those who apply and election could be held. <br />The new city manager, Julie Feier, is compiling “A list serve” which has citizens’ or those <br />interested in receiving e-mails from her pertaining to what is going in the city. Those <br />interested in being on the list should let Stefany know and she will see that your e-mail <br />address gets put on this list. <br /> <br />Concerts <br />Cheryl reported that all members have been asked to get one prize for the concerts <br />valued at approximately $25. A concert workers schedule was circulated for additions <br />or corrections. There are still posters available to be taken out to post in the <br />community. Workers should report to Cheryl’s office at approximately 7:15 p.m. on the <br />evening of the concert. <br /> <br />Returning Artist <br />Calla Smorodin reported that the dates for David Harris’s return had to be changed to <br />strd <br />March 21-23, 2007. David is a graduate of the class of 1974 and is a renowned <br />trombonist who currently works at the New England Conservatory in Boston. <br /> <br />
