The savings bond from Commerce Bank should be categorized in the Photo
Show category. The commission made about $1300.00 from the concerts in 2006. This is
a huge increase from 2005 where $560 was made. Old financial reports will be brought to
the next meeting in order to compare to the current expenses.

Introductions:
Julie Bianci was sworn in on September 9, 2006 and Marilyn Cathcart
was sworn in in June 2006.

nd
City Council Report
: Stefany Brot reported that the council approved the new 2 ward
representative. Lynn Ricci is the president of the St. Louis Women’s Law Association.
She is very detail oriented and has written ordinances and has reviewed rules and
procedures. There is a tree ordinance that is being enforced. Oak trees are a particular
concern. This ordinance is to ensure that the trees in University City are protected from
contractors and new construction. If a tree is cut down a new one must be planted to
replace it. The ordinance encourages that trees be left standing. Personal trees will not be
inspected unless there is obvious illness or damage. If contractors do not want to replace
a tree that is torn down, they must give the city funds that equal what the tree was worth.

New Information on Commission:
A new summary of what work the commission is
involved in needs to be written for the website and any published information about the
Arts and Letters Commission.. The citizens are not up to date on what the commission is
involved with. Old press releases need to be looked at before writing the new statement.
