Matt also announced that they had more exhibit room if <br />we or anyone we knew were interested. When asked if there was a charge for <br />the event, Matt replied “No” but that a bake sale could be present. Stefany Brot <br />noted that she will include an announcement of the event in her Council Member <br />Newsletter. Marilyn asked about exhibit space and brought up her concerns <br />about the limited space on site. Matt noted that they will be utilizing outdoor <br />space. Tom suggested renting the tennis courts for the day for use of the extra <br />space. Matt felt that for this first year, the extra space was not necessary. <br />Stefany Brot mentioned that the City could supply chairs and Tom was looking in <br />to that. It was also suggested to Matt that he contact Stanley Coleman, the <br />teacher that heads the Brittany Woods Jazz Band about their possible <br />participation. Matt then distributed flyers on the festival. <br /> <br />Council Member’s Report <br />Stefany Brot announced that Lynn Ricci and the two persons running for School <br />thth <br />Board were all elected to their respected positions. April 28 and 29, the <br />Heman Park Community Center will host the U. City in Bloom Spring Plant Sale. <br />th <br />A tire drop-off will be held at the same Community Center from the 16 to the <br />th <br />27 of April. The Sutter-Meyer House Committee will present their proposal to <br />preserve and bring up to code the home is order to educate the public on the <br />history of University City. This will take place at 5:30 at the Monday study <br />session and then they will present at the next Council Meeting. Finding funds for <br />the project remains a key issue. The economic development of Olive Blvd. is <br />coming thanks to the sales tax increase approved by voters. <br /> <br />Treasurer’s Report <br />Lisa Mandel prepared a handout for the Commission. In going over the handout, <br />several questions arise. Adelia asked if lunch at Dewey’s was covered by the <br />Commission and upon finding out that lunch was supposed to be paid for by the <br />individuals, she expressed desire to reimburse the Commission. Lisa Greening <br />asked if the Returning Artists received a stipend. Calla pointed out that they <br />receive an $100 per day honorarium. Robert questioned after the $500 that we <br />are waiting for from our past Washington University Artist. He said that it was <br />shown in the report as income when in fact we had yet to receive the $500. This <br />was a misunderstanding of the report because as Tom pointed out, the $500 <br />listed was actually given to the Commission by Washington University. There <br />was also a question by Calla as to the $150 listed on the report. Calla thought <br />that she had recalled that the amount was $115.
