He had been instrumental in forming the returning artist series in 1994 and <br />provided funding for continued efforts on the program. <br /> <br /> <br />Photo Show: Commission Member <br /> Barbara Santoro pointed out that the letters <br />regarding donations from vendors and post cards to the entrants will need to be <br />th <br />completed soon. Generally the brochure was completed the week before January 30. It <br />was not clear as to whether Ms. Traci Moore would be willing to once again assist with <br />the art work. Ms. Santoro requested assistance with the reservations, entry coordination, <br />trophies, and take down. Mr. McCarthy stated that he had reserved the Board room for <br />th <br />submittals on February 23 and 24 and he could assist with the event coordination. Set <br />up for the photo show in the library will be on Passover which will create conflicts for <br />Commission members; however, Ms. Sanotoro felt she could handle the set up with <br />assistance on the break down. She went on to mention that they will need three judges <br />and hoped that Ms. Mandel could assist with identifying appropriate individuals due to <br />her professional background in photography. <br />There are two categories for adult and youth in each area including black and white, <br />color, and creative or abstract pieces. <br /> <br /> The Sculpture Show was revisited and Mr. McCarthy confirmed that he had spoke with <br />WU staff and there will be 12 presenters with 11 proposals (one is a joint project). The <br />th <br />Council Chambers are confirmed for February 12 and they felt they could handle all the <br />review in one night. He will order pizza. In the past Commission members provide <br />dessert. <br /> <br />The Starlight Concert Series <br /> was mentioned briefly. The Commission expressed their <br />desire to have Leland Barber and Commission Member Bernstein continue to assist with <br />the selection of artists. Mr. McCarthy confirmed that the band wagon had already been <br />reserved and that he could assist with the contracts when the Commission identified the <br />line up. <br /> <br />Old Business <br />There was no old business discussed <br /> <br />New Business <br />Commission Member Mandel made a motion to provide Cheryl Thompson a $50 gift <br />certificate in appreciation to her service on the Commission. The motion was seconded <br />by Commission Member Weber, and was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />The Honorable Phyllis Weber, made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Stokes, the <br />meeting closed at 8:25 PM. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
