Lisa Greening asks for the names of the Judges. Barb reports that they are:
Robin Assner, Susan Stang and possibly Jay Fram.
Tom spoke with the trophy people and they are ready to go.

Barb asked for more questions. She then noted that we still need to disperse the
brochures for advertising the Photo Show. A box of brochures and a list of where
the brochures were already placed were brought to the meeting. We are not
limited to University City when distributing the brochures.

Starlight Concert Series
Tom has begun work on the series but it is slow-going. Tom notices that the
budget is extremely low and we should consider changing the event from 8 days
to 4 in order to be able to afford better talent.
A lead singer of Velvet, a past participating band that drew popularity, had died.
The band replaced the singer and was still performing. Fan Fare has been
booked.
Tom suggested that in addition to cutting down the numbers for next year, that
we also consider using themes for certain nights and partnering with local
restaurants. For example, if a Jamaican band is performing, we can ask that a
Jamaican restaurant come and serve food.
Barb asked which nights were heavier - which bands drew bigger crowds.
Tom noted that although weather could have been a factor that Velvet seemed to
draw the largest crowd.

Tom brings up appointing a concert chairperson from the Commission. We can
develop records for the event and consider using different parks.
By following the sale of raffle tickets, Velvet and Kim Massie were the most
popular performers and other numbers were much lower. Tom is not allowed to
sell raffle tickets and therefore one of us will need to pick up the slack for this.
Robert & Leland were asked to participate in the past because of their musical
backgrounds. As Robert is already busied with the Sculpture Show and Leland
is no longer a Commission member, we will look to other members. But Leland
will be approached to serve as a consultant.
Tom is looking for help with this year’s event and for someone to take over the
role entirely for next year. Creda showed interest in participating.
Tom will put together a kind of resume that will guide the Commission members
as to the responsibilities for running this event as many of the Commission
members are new and unfamiliar with the concert series.
Tom will also put together a list of past donors to the raffle.
A discussion id then held about the possibilities for attracting more people and
expanding the event. It is suggested that we could change the location of the
event within Heman Park or even choose a new park altogether. Tom is looking
into expanding advertising by joining up with Clayton and Richmond Heights to
create on brochure that promotes all concert series.
