Lisa asked if another student could be chosen to install their design in her place.
The Commission agreed that no other sculpture would be chosen as a
replacement.

Robert noted that the signage for the sculptures was ready and the postcards
were almost ready. They had to be reprinted to a typo.

Claire asked if the students ever received a subject to work from and if it was
possible to propose a subject (s) for future shows. She will speak to Ron through
Robert concerning assigning subjects to students in the future.

Returning Artist
Barb noted that Calla had everything in great order for the Returning Artist series.
Barb also announced the she would have her cell phone on for the 3 days in
case of emergencies. Creda asked if the reception was open to the public. The
event is open to the public and spouses are welcome to attend. The event is on
thnd
the 5 floor of City Hall on Thursday night, March 22.
David will be performing that night accompanied by an old University City
professor. It was pointed out that the Commission is not responsible for bring
refreshments to this event. Tom will be absent for the event but he has an
assistant prepared to fill in for him with regards to event set-up.

Photo Show
Next Friday and Saturday entries will be accepted. Tom will still be out of town at
this time. Photos will be spread out for judging at Centennial Commons on
th
March 29th. Barb will be out of town for the judging phase on the 29. Jane
Brownstone, who was in charge of the Photo Show last year, will be at
Centennial Commons to assist in the Judging process. Claire also volunteered
to be present as a Commission representative.
ndth
The show will be hung at the Library between April 2 –4, although Barb
believes it can all be accomplished in one evening. We are still missing the large
felt boards used for hanging the photos. Barb believes they are at Barbara
th
Kirchner’s and is checking into it. On April 10, out Commission meeting will be
held at City Hall in the second floor boardroom so that we can walk over to the
Library to view the entries and select photos for the Calendar.
Lisa seeks clarification of duties on certain days. When receiving entries, we
take the photos plus the fee from the submitters. They will be given a receipt if
requested. Photos are organized by category as they come in. Tom will prepare
signs for these categories. The photos are hung using double-sided Velcro. It is
nd
noted that the 2, the first night of hanging at the Library, is Passover.
th
Desserts for the reception on the 7 will be needed.
Barb calls for questions. Tom asks who’s responsible for writing checks to the
Judges. Is it Lisa Mandel? Barb says yes, probably. It is determined that
Judges will receive the same payment this year of $75 and we will discuss
raising that amount for next year.
