A <br />reception will be held on Thursday night, April 4, 2009 at Centennial Commons. <br /> <br />Photo Show – Chairperson - Barbara Santoro <br />We had about 50 photos, mostly student work, submitted this year for the photo show. <br />This was the first year that the show was in the fall. We are hopeful that this change will <br />only affect this year’s turn-out. Barbara shared the list of winning photos for use in the <br />2010 calendar, the cover, each month and an alternate photo have all be selected and <br />designated. A suggestion was made to email applications twice for next year’s show, <br />once in May and again in August. <br /> <br />Starlight Concert – Co-chairs, Tom McMarthy & Kim Chilton <br />Kim has booked all 8 bands to play at Heman Park in summer of 2009, starting on June 1. <br />The concerts are scheduled for every Monday night, and will be included in the 2009 <br />calendar. Claire made a motion to have sponsors at each of the concerts. Julie seconded <br />the motion; the motion carried. The sponsors will be asked to donate a minimum of <br />$250.00 per show, one sponsor per show, and we’ll provide an 8’-0” long table for them <br />to display information and marketing packets for their business. Sponsors cannot sell <br />their products at these events. A sign-up sheet will be handed out during upcoming A & <br />L meetings for commissioners to commit to selling raffle tickets at the concerts. <br /> <br />Old Business <br />Lions Gate 100 Year Anniversary – Dan Martin & Tom McMarthy <br /> <br /> <br />Tom informed the commission that the Lions Project may move to later in 2009. <br />He also informed us there is still no formal / written plan for the anniversary <br />celebration. Tom has committed to setting up binders of past meetings minutes, <br />agendas, etc. <br /> <br /> <br />Tom brought in the draft of the 2009 calendar, compiled of student art with a <br />recycling theme. <br /> <br /> <br />Lisa announced the nominations for the officer positions as follows – President - <br />Barbara Santoro, VP - Julie Bianchi, Treasurer - Lisa Greening & Secretary - <br />Regina Raineri. These positions will be voted on at the next Commission <br /> <br />meeting, December 92008. Additional nominations can be emailed to the <br />nd <br />nomination committee (Julie, Lisa & Regina) before Dec. 2 or brought up from <br />the floor at the December meeting. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br /> <br />Lisa has volunteered to chair a sub-committee to get on the agenda for the next <br />City Council meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />Claire has suggested submitting an article to a local publication (St. Louis <br />Magazine, etc.) to inform the public of the A & L Commission and its history. <br /> <br /> <br />We discussed a plaque for the structure along the outside, front wall of Cent. <br />Comm. Once a style & location is decided, Tom will order it and have it <br />installed. <br /> <br /> <br />Claire suggested a new A& L mission statement; Lisa has agreed to help write it. <br />Lisa will then submit it to Tom for distribution. <br /> <br />
