 <br /> <br />Barbara Romero cut the labels for the matted photos. <br /> <br /> <br />Dan to create a poster for the event. <br /> <br /> <br />Starlight Concert – Co-chairs, Tom McCarthy & Kim Chilton <br /> <br /> <br />Concerts will on Mondays June 7, 14, 21 & 28, July 5, 12, 19 & 26 from 6:30 to <br />8:30 pm. <br /> <br /> <br />One band is booked already, June 7 – Power Play. <br /> <br /> <br />Kim is trying to book the Soulard Blues Band. <br /> <br /> <br />She is also focusing on variety of bands to bring a more diverse group to the <br />concerts. <br /> <br /> <br />Concert area has changed to back of park near parking lot off of Midland. <br /> <br />Movies in the Park series – Chairperson, Jennifer Stokes <br /> <br /> <br />Jennifer is currently working on the movie list. <br /> <br />Lions Gate 100 Year Anniversary – Dan Martin & Tom McCarthy <br /> <br /> <br />Lions Event was very successful. <br /> <br /> <br />Auctioned off all lions. <br /> <br /> <br />Two additional lions were purchased and artists have been commissioned to <br />decorate them. <br /> <br />Old Business <br /> <br /> <br />Claire spoke with Robin about helping to art in Cent. Comm. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br /> <br />The Historical Society gave an award (crystal plate to displayed in City Hall) to <br />the Mayor of U City. HS has asked if the A & L Commission is interested in <br />picking up the distribution of this award in future years. A & L could take over <br />the award designation if commissioners agree to it. If so, a committee will be <br />formed to write the award criteria and to ask for applications / nominees. <br /> <br /> <br />There was discussion on paying an artist to redesign the A & L logo. Claire and <br />Regina will collect names, costs, timing for design. <br /> <br /> <br />U City is considering having a Fair or Bazaar in Heman Park. We will invite <br />artists to work on their art at booths, sell already completed work, etc. There will <br />be food vendors, etc. Other groups present will be U City in Bloom, Green <br />Center, U City Symphony, Historical Society, Library, etc. The theme is “Best of <br />U City”. There will be booth fees (Clayton Art Fair prototype).
