taken. The Commission members stated their intentions to approve the
application at the February 18 meeting.

4. 7901 Stanford Avenue – Consideration for nomination to the National
Register of Historic Places

The Commission discussed the application for 7901 Stanford Avenue (The
Murphy House) to be considered for nomination to the National Register of
Historic Places. It was agreed that the application was well prepared and the
residence has a unique architectural style.

Esley Hamilton, historian with St. Louis County Parks, gave a brief explanation
about the background of the architect, Joseph Murphy, and other important
landmarks in the St. Louis area designed by him.

The Commission decided that although this item does not require a quorum be
present to act on it, it would be best to get a vote from the entire group. Rather
than wait until the next meeting, a vote would be cast by email in order to get a
vote from each member. If approved, a letter of support will be sent to the State
Historic Preservation Office in Jefferson City.

5. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
