Meeting commenced at 7:15 pm.

2. 6320 Delmar Boulevard (Parking Lot owned by University City) –
Background information was presented by Megan Fuhler with the
University City Public Works Department. The current proposal is to
repave the existing parking lot and to replace the existing brick wall with a
fence similar to the fence installed at the City parking lot across from the
Post Office at Kingsland Avenue.

Comments and questions from the Commission and responses included:

- Was this proposal discussed with The Loop Special Business District?
Ms. Fuhler – No, but the Public Works Department intends to contact
them.

- There is no convincing reason to save the wall.

- If the wall presents a risk to public safety, is a barrier necessary?
Ms. Fuhler – A barrier would provide a physical delineation of the
parking lot.

- Question about parking lot material?
July 15, 2010 Historic Preservation Commission Minutes
Q:\WPOFFICE\Historic Preservation Commission\Minutes
