Meeting commenced at 7:05 pm. <br /> <br />2. Minutes of previous meeting (May 20, 2010) were accepted. <br /> <br />3. 7400 Balson Avenue (Jackson Park Elementary School) – The current <br />proposal is a 14,300 sq. ft. addition to the back of the existing school <br />building, parking lot reconfiguration, relocation of ground-mounted HVAC <br />equipment, new dumpster enclosure, new stormwater filtration basin, new <br />fence, landscaping, and interior renovations. <br /> <br />Background information for the project was given by Karl Scheidt, Director <br />of Operations for the University City School District. The reason for the <br />addition is to handle anticipated enrollment increase due to school <br />consolidations. The addition will include a gym, cafeteria, library and <br />additional classroom space. <br /> <br />Martin Padilla with Bond Wolfe Architects gave an explanation of the site <br />plan. The largest piece will be the gymnasium. The roof lines will step <br />down in height from the gym. The intent is that the new addition will be <br />distinct from the existing building, yet be compatible.
