Department Report (cont) <br /> <br /> <br /> Centennial Commons –summer brochure and programs are coming out. Looked at full year <br />of memberships and revenues and memberships are slightly higher. If you just look at the <br />first quarter comparison, however, it shows about a 20% decrease. Adjustments have been <br />made to compensate for this current economy and its effects. Marketing will be increased. <br /> <br /> New boulder sign has been installed at Golf Course. <br /> <br />Individual Park Reports <br /> <br />Ruth Park Golf Course <br /> –Mr. Fitch reports that all is well with Ruth Park. <br /> <br />Millar <br /> – Park is in good condition. <br /> <br />Rabe and Ackert <br /> - Ms. St. Clair states parks are in good condition but would like to see sculpture series <br />exhibited in these parks also. <br /> <br />Kaufman <br /> –Nothing new. Suggestion is made to put Mutt Mitt bags by playground area for people with <br />dogs. <br /> <br />Mona Terrace <br /> - Park is in good condition. <br /> <br />Mooney <br /> - Ms. Palmer reports that sculpture series display is falling apart, railroad ties are in bad shape, <br />and the mulch is low under the swings. <br /> <br />Heman Park <br /> - Ms. Dille states Heman looks good; however, by the softball diamond the water on the east <br />rd <br />side is not draining by 3 base line and restrooms. <br /> <br />Majerus and Metcalf <br /> - Mr. Sweeney suggest about 1 hours work in each park would help make them <br />look even better. <br /> <br />Kingsland and Eastgate <br /> - Nothing to report <br /> <br />Fogerty and Greensfelder <br /> - Fogerty needs grass cut. No report on Greensfelder. <br /> <br />Lewis <br /> - Park is in good condition. <br /> <br />Ruth Park Woods <br /> - No report <br /> <br />Unfinished Business <br />– <br />Ms. St. Clair reports that the Senior Expo was very well organized and well attended. <br />President Sykes asks if issue regarding Olivette and youth sports has been addressed and resolved. <br /> <br />New Business <br /> <br /> Ms. Dille suggests Memorial Day weekend opening of pool (on the Saturday before Memorial Day) <br /> <br /> Ms. Palmer has question about lifeguard budget cut for natatorium lifeguards. <br /> <br /> Motion made by Ms. St. Clair and seconded by Ms. Hart to support feasibility study for Natatorium <br />without committing to any funds. All present are in favor of support. <br /> <br /> Ms. Palmer states U City Swim Club is USA swimming organization member and thru this organization <br />the swim team is entitled to certain services which could include facility development guidance and pool <br />sustainability. <br /> <br /> Where should anger/concerns regarding Natatorium be directed <br /> <br /> Ms. Dille brings up issue of the driving range and balls possibly hitting people playing on course at hole <br />#7. Couple of things have been done: signage, monitoring number of balls entering #7 fairway, and out <br />of bounds stakes have been installed. <br /> <br />Mr. Sterbenz moves to adjourn meeting and Ms. Peoples seconds. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 8:10pm <br />
