<br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Park Commission <br />City of University City <br />January 25, 2010 <br />Heman Park Community Center <br /> <br />President Livingston Sykes called the meeting to order at 6:33p.m. Others present were: <br /> <br />Karen Palmer Nancy MacCartney, Director of Parks <br />Karen Dille Rivian Robinson, Department Staff Liaison <br />John Sweeney <br />Mary Hart <br />Linda Peoples <br />Caryn St. Clair <br />Jerry Fitch <br /> <br />Unexcused Absence: Karen Palmer <br /> <br />Disposition of Minutes from November 24, 2009 <br />November minutes reviewed. Motion made and seconded to approve minutes. All in agreement, President Sykes <br />approved minutes. <br /> <br />Citizen’s Comments on items not on Agenda <br />No citizens present. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Report <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner was not present. No Report given. <br /> <br />Nominating Committee Report <br />Mr Fitch states committee reviewed names and re-elected current President and Vice President and they accepted. <br />Ms. MacCartney states there is nomination on the floor for Mr Sykes to remain President and Ms. Dille to remain <br />Vice President, vote taken; all are in favor, election of officers approved. <br /> <br />Parkview Gardens Park Plan <br />John Hoal and Tim Breihan from H3 Studios gave presentation on current status of Parkview Gardens Park Plan. <br />Details of what has been done, what is happening at present, and future timeline for plan to come to fruition were <br />displayed and explained. Ms. MacCartney opened floor for discussion after presentation and requested <br />recommendation to City Council for approval. Ms. Dille, Ms. St. Clair, and Mr. Fitch had question, concern, and <br />comment regarding presentation and project that Ms. MacCartney addressed. Mr. Fitch made motion to <br />recommend adoption of this plan to City Council. Ms. St. Clair seconds. Vote taken and all are in favor. <br />Recommendation to City Council approved. <br /> <br />Permit Required for Large Groups <br />Nancy reports that it is budget time and implementation of grants is moving forward. There are no other items. <br />She requests to leave at this time to attend the City Council meeting. <br />Department Report <br />None given. Ms. MacCartney requests that any questions, concerns, or comments be given to Ms. Robinson and <br /> <br />she will address them as needed. <br /> <br />Individual Park Reports <br />Fogerty/Greensfelder <br />- No report. Observation that Fogerty looks fine and folks are kind of staying away from <br />due to construction at Barbara C. Jordan. <br /> Lewis/Majerus/Metcalf/Flynn- <br />Flynn has lots of small branches down and needs to be cleared. Ewald Winker <br />met Mr. Sweeney at Majerus and agreed with his analysis of the drainage problem and how to fix it and says as <br /> <br />
