Regular Meeting of the Park Commission City of University City January 25, 2010 Heman Park Community Center President Livingston Sykes called the meeting to order at 6:33p.m. Others present were: Karen Palmer Nancy MacCartney, Director of Parks Karen Dille Rivian Robinson, Department Staff Liaison John Sweeney Mary Hart Linda Peoples Caryn St. Clair Jerry Fitch Unexcused Absence: Karen Palmer Disposition of Minutes from November 24, 2009 November minutes reviewed. Motion made and seconded to approve minutes. All in agreement, President Sykes approved minutes. Citizen’s Comments on items not on Agenda No citizens present. Council Liaison Report Mr. Wagner was not present. No Report given. Nominating Committee Report Mr Fitch states committee reviewed names and re-elected current President and Vice President and they accepted. Ms. MacCartney states there is nomination on the floor for Mr Sykes to remain President and Ms. Dille to remain Vice President, vote taken; all are in favor, election of officers approved. Parkview Gardens Park Plan John Hoal and Tim Breihan from H3 Studios gave presentation on current status of Parkview Gardens Park Plan. Details of what has been done, what is happening at present, and future timeline for plan to come to fruition were displayed and explained. Ms. MacCartney opened floor for discussion after presentation and requested recommendation to City Council for approval. Ms. Dille, Ms. St. Clair, and Mr. Fitch had question, concern, and comment regarding presentation and project that Ms. MacCartney addressed. Mr. Fitch made motion to recommend adoption of this plan to City Council. Ms. St. Clair seconds. Vote taken and all are in favor. Recommendation to City Council approved. Permit Required for Large Groups Nancy reports that it is budget time and implementation of grants is moving forward. There are no other items. She requests to leave at this time to attend the City Council meeting. Department Report None given. Ms. MacCartney requests that any questions, concerns, or comments be given to Ms. Robinson and she will address them as needed. Individual Park Reports Fogerty/Greensfelder - No report. Observation that Fogerty looks fine and folks are kind of staying away from due to construction at Barbara C. Jordan. Lewis/Majerus/Metcalf/Flynn- Flynn has lots of small branches down and needs to be cleared. Ewald Winker met Mr. Sweeney at Majerus and agreed with his analysis of the drainage problem and how to fix it and says as
