Meeting Room of City <br />Hall on Wednesday, August 27, 1986, convening at 7:31 p.m. with Chairman Esley <br />Hamilton presiding. <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br /> <br />Voting Members Present: <br /> <br />Voting Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mary Cook <br />Esley Hamilton <br />Matthew P. Adams, Jr. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Al Goldman, Director of Planning; Sarah Elwood, Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. Washington moved that the minutes of the July 23, 1986, meeting be approved as <br />submitted. Ms. Schuman seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Rice arrived at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />Later in the meeting, Mr. McCauley moved that the motion to approve the minutes be <br />reconsidered. Mr. Rice seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 6-0. Once the <br />necessary corrections were suggested, Mr. Rice moved that the minutes of the July 23, <br />1986, meeting be approved as amended. Mr. McCauley seconded the motion which passed <br />by a vote of 6-0. <br /> <br />REVIEW OF UNIVERSITY CITY REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY PROPOSAL-TO MODIFY CUNNINGHAM <br />INDUSTRIAL PARK URBAN RENEWAL PLAN WITH REGARD TO MAPLE INDUSTRIAL DRIVE <br /> <br />Mary Fahey, Executive Director of the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority <br />(LCRA), presented a proposal to modify the Cunningham Industrial Park Urban Renewal <br />Plan. She stated that the modification was necessary in order for the Winco <br />Ventilator Company (Winco) to complete Phase V of the seven-part Development Plan <br />approved by the LCRA for the property Winco owns in the Industrial Park. Winco, a <br />contract manufacturer of windows for commercial buildings, is completing Phases I, II, <br />III and VI of their development plan which will include a total of 240,000 square feet <br />of building area. Phase V was currently under consideration with regard to the <br />vacation of a portion of Maple Industrial Drive so that Winco might connect their <br />expanding manufacturing facilities with a roofed-over walkway across Maple for <br />
