<br />. <br /> <br />PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br />May 27, 1987 <br /> <br />The City Plan Commission held its regular meeting in the Emergency Operations <br />Center of City Hall on Wednesday, May 27, 1987, convening at 7:33 p.m. with <br />Chairman Esley Hamilton presiding. <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br /> <br />Voting Members Present: <br /> <br />Voting Members Absent: <br /> <br />Esley Hamilton, Chairman <br />Mary Schuman <br />Arnold J. Kendall <br />Matthew P. McCauley <br />Booker T. Washington <br /> <br />Canice T. Rice, Jr. (excused) <br /> <br />Council Liaison: Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Al Goldman, Director of Planning, Sarah Elwood, Zoning <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />Chairman Hamilton informed Commission members that City Council had appointed <br />a new member to the Plan Commission, Melissa Powers Kreishman of 6916 <br />Waterman. Ms. Kreishman would receive the oath of office at the next City <br />Council meeting and would attend the next regular Plan Commission meeting on <br />June 24, 1987. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. Kendall moved that the minutes of the April 22, 1987 meeting be approved <br />as submitted. Mr. Washington seconded the motion which passed by a vote of <br />4-0. <br /> <br />APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 248. MR. KERRY MCDANIEL. CARRY-OUT <br />RESTAURANT AT 7701 OLIVE BOULEVARD <br /> <br />Chairman Hamilton stated that a Plan Commission recommendation on this <br />application had been postponed from the April 22, 1987 meeting in order for <br />the applicant, Mr. Kerry McDaniel, to meet with Mr. Goldman, Director of <br />Planning, to review existing conditions and potential renovations for the <br />proposed ice cream parlor/carry-out restaurant at 7701 Olive Boulevard. <br />Chairman Hamilton noted that the applicant was not present at this meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Goldman stated that he had indeed met with Mr. McDaniel, and Mr. McDaniel <br />indicated that he would comply with all of the conditions proposed by Mr. <br />Goldman in his letter to Mr. McDaniel of May 6, 1987. Sarah Elwood, Zoning <br />Administrator, informed Commission members that she had spoken with the <br />residents at 1231 North and South Road, Gary and JoAnn Scott, with regard to <br />their inquiries about the proposed ice cream parlor. Mr. and Mrs. Scott <br />expressed their concern over potential litter problems in the area and were <br />also interested in knowing Mr. McDaniel's proposed hours of operation. <br />
