.

.

Minutes - Plan Commission
Page 6
September 16, 1987

OTHER BUSINESS

Ms. Elwood, Zoning Administrator, stated that Planning Staff proposed a text
amendment to the "PA"-Public Activity District regulations which would
include Research and Development (R & D) use as a Conditional Use. Mr.
Goldman stated that this proposal was a direct result of an inquiry from a R
& D firm interested in adaptive reuse of Greensfelder School. The property
is currently zoned "PA"-Public Activity District and permits offices as a
conditional use. -Greensfelder School could never be rezoned in to the "PD"-
Planned Residential-Office District because of a requirement that it be
located within five hundred (500) feet in traversed distance to a "major
street." In Mr. Goldman's judgment, R & D has the same potential for
successful reuse of the school as for other types of church or governmental
buildings. After some discussion, Ms. Kreishman suggested that Plan
Commission members review this proposal and consider it at the October Plan
Commission meeting.

Ms. Elwood informed Commission members that a Planning and Zoning seminar,
sponsored by the University of Missouri Governmental Affairs Program, would
be held at the Busch Brewery on October 15, 1987. The day-long program was
designed to acclimate Plan Commission and Board of Adjustment members to the
legal issues involved in city planning and zoning. Ms. Elwood stated that
the City would assume the registration cost for any interested member.
Further information would be forthcoming in the mail.

ADJOURNMENT

The meeting adjourned at 10:28 p.m.
