<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />Minutes <br /> <br />May 24, 1989 <br /> <br />The City Plan Commission held its regular meeting in the Emergency Operations <br />Center of City Hall on Wednesday, May 24, 1989, convening at 7:30 p.m. with <br />Chairman Matthew P. McCauley presiding. <br /> <br />VOTING MEMBERS PRESENT <br /> <br />Matthew P. McCauley, Chairman <br />Canice T. Rice, Jr., Vice Chairman <br />Arnold J. Kendall <br />Melissa P. Kreishman <br />Booker T. Washington <br /> <br />VOTING MEMBERS ABSENT <br /> <br />Stephen Marsh (excused) <br />Carl Safe (excused) <br /> <br />Councilmembers Present: Robert Wagner, Council Liaison; Betty Thompson, Third <br />Ward; Byron Price, Third Ward. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Al Goldman, Director of Planning; Sarah Elwood, Zoning <br />Administrator. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Mr. Kendall moved that the minutes of the April 26, 1989, meeting be approved as <br />submitted. Ms. Kreishman seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Rice arrived at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />APPLICATION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT #275 - BAVARIAN RESTORATION AND SUPPLY AT <br />8374 OLIVE BOULEVARD <br /> <br />Chairman McCauley informed those present that the Plan Commission had scheduled a <br />public hearing on the application for Conditional Use Permit #275 by Mr. John M. <br />LaClair who proposes to do business as Bavarian Restoration and Supply at 8374 <br />Olive Boulevard. The proposed business requires Plan Commission and City Council <br />approval for its auto repair service. The Chairman then outlined the <br />Commission's procedure and criteria for reviewing the application. <br /> <br />Chairman McCauley called on the applicant to present information to the <br />Commission on his application. Mr. LaClair informed Commission members that he <br />had owned the business known as Bavarian Restoration and Supply for twenty years, <br />offering a restoration service for all types of BMW automobiles - especially <br />vintage models - as well as offering various supplies and parts for BMW's. Mr. <br />LaClair explained that he had decided to locate his business at 8374 Olive <br />Boulevard because there were two existing auto repair businesses already <br />operating from other units of the building and using portions of the parking lot <br />for vehicle storage; he believed that his business would be compatible with the <br /> <br />~ <br />
