""

Staff was requested to resubmit the amended Standard Conditions to the Plan Commission for
further review.

PROPOSED SIGN CODE AMENDMENT FOR REAL ESTATE SIGNS

Mr. Goldman explained a proposal to amend the Sign Code to allow real estate open house and
directional signs on public land. There was general discussion among Plan Commission
members regarding both the advisability and necessity of such signing. Concerns were raised
about the difficulty in monitoring such signs if they do not contain the addresses to which they
apply and concerns about a proliferation or overuse of such signing. Ms. Ratner indicated a
desire to avoid adding cumbersome administrative requirements, stating that she would rather
see a trial period used to determine whether additional restrictions would be required. She
moved approval of the Zoning text amendment prepared by City Attorney Dennis Kay with the
provision that it should be limited to a six month trial period. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Safe and passed by a vote of 5-0.

ADJOURNMENT

Mr. Safe moved to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Mr. Kendall and passed by a vote
of 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
