-

.

.

June 28, 1995 Plan Commission Meeting Minutes

Page 3

Chapter 3 - Housing. Mr. Solodar suggested that strategies should be developed for encouraging
the purchase of earthquake insurance and the retrofitting of housing to minimize earthquake
damage. Mr. Schoomer requested that special emphasis be given to the study of housing in the
northeast corner of the city. Ms. Ratner noted that the area east of the Ritz Carlton Hotel on
Forsyth needs study.

Chapter 6 - Transportation. Ms. Glassman pointed out that there is some urgency to quickly
come up with a consensus on Metro link routes in order to influence Citizens for Mass Transit
and the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council to consider the solutions that are most
beneficial to University City. Mr. Solodar commented that the proposed new runway system
for the airport can change air traffic patterns and that University City should provide input to
avoid any increase in air traffic over University City.

Adjournment

Mr. Solodar moved adjournment. The motion was seconded by Ms. Glassman and passed
unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 10:05 p.m.

m-6-28.plc
