March 26, 1997 Plan Commission Minutes Page 2 <br />Add to §34-90 Definitions: Bed and Breakfast Facility - A single family dwelling, a portion of which <br />is used for temporary guest accommodations for a fee and where the owner of the dwelling to whom <br />an occupancy permit has been issued maintains the Bed and Breakfast facility as her/his permanent <br />residence. <br />Insert in §34-51.4 Permitted Home Occupations: i. Bed and Breakfast Facility provided that: 1) The <br />maximum number of guests at any one time does not exceed eight (8) and in no event shall the <br />dwelling be utilized for a number of individuals in excess of that number permitted by the property <br />maintenance code provisions. 2) The owner of the facility must reside on the premises at all times <br />that a Bed and Breakfast facility guest is registered. 3) Guests may not remain longer than fourteen <br />(14) consecutive days, nor may the same guest reside within the facility more than a total of thirty <br />(30) days per calendar year. 4) One off-street parking space shall be provided per guest room in <br />addition to one off-street parking space for the owner of the dwelling. 5) The Bed and Breakfast <br />facility shall provide meals only to its guests. No food storage or preparation capabilities shall be <br />provided in the guest rooms. 6) The Bed and Breakfast facility shall appear at all times as a single <br />family dwelling. No identification signage shall be permitted on the premises. <br />Delete in §34-51.5 Prohibited Home Occupations: h. Tourist home. <br />Mr. Hill also gave an overview of the changes that would have to be made in the proposed zoning <br />code currently being considered by the Plan Commission. <br />Mr. Walsh stated that: in §34-51.4(i)(1) the words “eight (8)” should be replaced with “five (5)”; in <br />§34-51.4(i)(5) the word “overnight” should be inserted between the words “its” and “guests;” and <br />add condition 7 to §34-51.4(i) stating - The facility shall be licensed for business per Chapter 18 of <br />the Municipal Code. <br />Mr. Walsh moved that the Plan Commission recommend approval of the text amendments as follows: <br />Add to §34-90 Definitions: <br />Bed and Breakfast Facility - A single family dwelling, a portion of which is used for temporary guest <br />accommodations for a fee and where the owner of the dwelling to whom an occupancy permit has <br />been issued maintains the Bed and Breakfast facility as her/his permanent residence. <br />Insert in §34-51.4 Permitted Home Occupations: <br />i.
