She did not like the activities taking place the existing restaurant <br />that she visited. <br />No other members of the public indicated a desire to speak, so the public hearing portion of the <br />meeting was closed. <br />George Scott, Sonics Corp., 1514 Royal Burgess, St. Peters, MO 63304 stated that: Sonics is <br />very adamant about trash pick-up, wants to install extensive landscaping, that they police against <br />loitering, there will always be a manager on duty, the use will create jobs for people in the area <br />and that the alley will not be accessible through to Bartmer. <br />Chairperson Glassman stated that she will vote against the proposal because it encourages people <br />to sit in their cars with the motors running, the use invites litter. Mr. Price stated that this is the <br />wrong spot for this type of commercial use. Ms. Arbogast stated that she is concerned with the <br />noise from car radios, the increased litter and the length of time people will be waiting with their <br />cars running. Mr. Smith inquired whether people are encouraged to turn off their cars and <br />whether the car-hops bring trash away from the cars. Mr. Scott stated that they do. Mr. Smith <br />asked Ms. Gordon what type of behavior she experienced at the existing Sonics that she did not <br />like. She replied that there were people skate-boarding through the dining area.Mr. Smith asked <br />how Sonics will control noise. Mr. Scott replied that they ask patrons with loud music to turn <br />down there radios. Mr. Credit stated that this is not a good fit for the neighborhood. He will not <br />vote for it. <br />Mr. Price moved that the proposal be denied. Ms. Arbogast seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Smith moved that the application be tabled. Mr. Credit seconded the motion. The motion <br />was denied by a vote of 2 (yea) to 3 (nay) with Mr. Smith and Mr. Credit voting for the motion <br />and with Ms. Glassman, Ms. Arbogast and Mr. Price voting against the motion. <br />Mr. Price renewed his motion to deny the application with Ms. Arbogast seconding the motion. <br />The motion was approved by a vote of 3 (yea) to 2 (nay) with Mr. Price, Ms. Glassman and Ms. <br />Arbogast voting for the motion and Mr. Smith and Mr. Credit voting against the motion. <br />Other Business <br />Ms. Glassman announced that the Plan Commission would consider a request from Susan <br />Crowe, 6764 Chamberlain, that brightly colored paper be used for public hearing signs.
