January 24, 2007 Plan Commission Minutes Page 3 of 3
2.No specific architectural style shall be required for construction; but the Commission shall
not approve such proposed undertaking unless it makes a determination that it is compatible
with the historic nature of the district.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Byrne and passed by a vote of 6 to 0 with all members voting
“aye.”
Discussion of Four-Tiered SR Zoning Districts

Mr. Hill gave an overview of a previously proposed planning strategy to create four-tiered “SR” -
Single Family Residential Districts. Planning Staff recommend that the strategy be abandoned per
the Staff Report.
Mr. Kreishman moved that the Plan Commission recommend abandoning the strategy of creating
four-tiered SR zoning districts per the Staff recommendation. The motion was seconded Ms. Borg
and passed by a vote of 6 to 0.
Discussion of Public Notice Requirements and Request to add cost of mailings and notice to
Cost of Fees
The Commission discussed a Staff Memo concerning notice and the cost of mailings. It was
decided that the City Attorney would be consulted to determine if a flat fee for reimbursement for
the cost of mailings and notice publication would be acceptable instead of doing on a case by case
basis. Staff stated they would do so and the commission would revisit the matter at a later date.
Other Business
Ms. Borg stated she objected to special meetings unless it is an emergency. The topic of setting
time limits on speakers was discussed and Staff stated they will be researching the subject to be
completed in the next few months.
Adjournment
Mr. Myers moved for adjournment. The motion was seconded by Mr. Marentette and passed
unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
Q:\WPOFFICE\WPDATA\m-01-24-2007.plc.final.wpd
