Attached is a copy
of the agenda for the meeting.

Please call Sandy Weinberg at 862-6767, ext. 260, and advise her if you will not be attending the meeting.

AGENDA FOR THE MEETING

1.Restrict parking during business hours on Pershing from Big Bend to first driveway, south side.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
For this agenda item, please check minutes from the July 9, 2003 Traffic Commission Meeting and written
statement from Hi/Tec Copy Center.

The area for parking restriction due to this request is the area between Big Bend and the businesses
entrance that allows to park 3 cars.

As supporting documentation please find attached, information about past minutes regarding the 7000
block of Pershing Ave. Following is a summary:

Traffic Commission Meeting on March 8, 2000
At this point, there was a Parking Prohibition on Pershing Ave. from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00
p.m. Monday through Friday, except by Residential Permit.
A resident addressed the commission and presented a proposal for extension of residential
permit parking on the 7000 block of Pershing Avenue to 24 hours a day.
“The Commission decided to table the proposition until a petition is presented to the
Traffic Commission”.

Traffic Commission Meeting on October 11, 2000
John Thomas (resident) in behalf of Hi Tec Copy Center (located on the corner of Big
Bend Blvd and Millbrook Blvd.), submitted a Traffic Complaint Form for repeal of
residential permit parking on the 70XX block of Pershing.
Due to the parking restriction, the commercial employees are forced to park away. He is
concerned about the safety of the employees since there have been multiple robberies at the
area.
“The Commission made no vote as it was suggested to Mr. Thomas that Hi Tec approach
the lot owner to work out a compromise or he return to the commission with a petition
signed by those affected by the repeal”.

1
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\agenda\2003\Agenda 09-10-03.doc
