6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, MO 63130 Phone: 314-862-6767, Fax: (314)
862-0694

Date: December 3, 2004
To: Members of the Traffic Commission
From: Mariela Tapia, Secretary of the Traffic Commission.
DECEMBER
Re: Traffic Commission Meeting

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Traffic Commission is Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at
Meeting Room #6
6:30 p.m. in the in the Second Floor of the City Hall building. Below is a copy of
the agenda for the meeting.

Please call Sandy Weinberg at 862-6767, ext. 260, and advise her if you will not be attending the
meeting.
AGENDA FOR THE MEETING

I. Pedestrian and Vehicular Safety on Oakbrook Forest

This information was presented in the last traffic commission meeting for the Commissioners
information. Please refer to your last month package regarding the several traffic requests presented by
the residents of the Oakbrook Forest neighborhood (area is surrounded by Old Bonhomme, Delmar and
McKnight Road).

The Engineering Division reviewed all the requests and the following are the items warranted as agenda
items for the meeting:

1.Stop signs at all corners for Oakbrook and Gannon intersection

This request was submitted by Nancy Weisman, resident at 701 Oakbrook Lane. She states that
the stop sign on westbound Gannon is frequently ignored by drivers.

Presently, Oakbrook and Gannon is a 2-way Stop intersection and Oakbrook lane has the right of
way. Stop signs on Gannon at Oakbrook are visible. There is no accident reported at this
intersection since April 2000 to present according to the Police Department records.

It is the recommendation of the Engineering Division to deny the request.

2.Stop signs at Balson-Oakbrook and Golf Course-Alanson

Balson-Oakbrook
There are no stop signs at this intersection. There have been no accidents reported at this
intersection since April 2000 to the present according to the Police Department records. The
traffic on Balson and Oakbrook at this intersection is low and about the same for both streets.
Since this is a residential area the speed limit is low and intersections around are not signalized.
The view at the intersection is not restricted.
There are no warrants for this request; therefore, it is the recommendation of the Engineering
Division to deny it.

1
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\agenda\2004\Agenda 12-8-04.doc
