For any option to be implemented, a petition should be presented to the traffic commissioners and should be signed by at least 75% of the affected residents in the block. The commissioners will hear comments from the residents during this meeting. 3.Traffic issues in the 8600 block of Delmar. Please find attached two traffic request forms. One is dated March 21, 2006 submitted by Peter Neukirch, resident at 8674 Delmar 1-E. The second one is dated March 25, 2006 submitted by R. J. Dick Lindsoe, resident at 8674 Delmar 1-W. Mr. Both residents are requesting for police to issue tickets to speeding drivers, to drivers that perform illegal u- turns and to drivers that park improperly. In addition, Mr. Lindsoe is requesting for the Section 10.40.120-Parking prohibited in excess of five consecutive days, of the Municipal Code to be rewritten and strengthened. The enforcement of traffic laws in this portion of Delmar is under University City jurisdiction. We request for the Police to patrol this area regarding speeding, illegal u- turns and parking for a long period of time, impeding the proper cleaning and care of the street. The Engineering Division contacted the County regarding the issue to determine whether or not parking lines should be marked on both sides of Delmar to improve parking. The County stated that they do not stripe parking spaces along County maintained roadways because of limited for this type of work effort. The Engineering Division agrees with the County that it is the responsibility of drivers to park properly without the aid of striping. Parking offenders are often neighborhood residents or friends of residents. The residents should meet to discuss amongst themselves the importance of conserving space when parallel parking along Delmar Boulevard. 4.Stop sign on Stanford at Amherst. Please find attached a traffic request form dated March 31, 2006 submitted by Karen Leinhauser.
