Please
call Sandy Weinberg at 505-8563, and advise her if you will not be attending the meeting.

AGENDA FOR THE MEETING

1.Parking prohibitions on the west side of Jackson, north of Balson

Please find attached traffic request form submitted by Mr. Schott Hafertepe, Chief Financial
Officer of the School District of University City. Mr. Hafertepe is requesting parking
prohibitions on the west side of Jackson between Shaftesbury Ave. and Balson Ave to
accommodate parking for the school buses as part of a transportation program that the school
implemented.

On a field inspection, the area north of Balson has temporary parking prohibitions and the area
south of the Balson circle is full of cars parked on both sides of Jackson.

At the July, 2006 meeting, the traffic commission approved parking prohibitions on one side of
Jackson Ave. from Dartmouth to Tulane. Ambulances and emergency vehicles are larger than
they used to be and there is no space for them to travel on Jackson, if cars are parked on both
sides of the street. The Council has not been presented the previously approved parking
restrictions, pending your consideration of this additional request.

This item is presented to the commissioners for review and/or approval. If there are ample
parking spaces in the Jackson Park School parking lot for teachers and students, the
engineering division recommends that the parking restrictions be implemented.

2.Issues at University View Neighborhood

Please find attached traffic requests submitted by Ms. Joan Botwinick, President of University
View Neighborhood and property owner of 511 Westview Drive, requesting the following:

1
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\agenda\2006\Agenda 9-13-06.doc
