Works would erect suitable signs giving notice that such through traffic is prohibited.
Designation as a no through traffic street would be enforceable within the city limits. Please
find attached a letter from Wallace Richard, Trustee of City of Village of Vinita Terrace in
support of the petition. The reports of speeding and illegal activities on the street have been
forwarded to the Police Department for appropriate follow-up.

4. Traffic signal at the intersection of Forsyth and Asbury, requesting adjustment of
signal for vehicles on Asbury.

Please find attached a traffic request from Donald Hartmann of 7248 Northmoor Dr.
requesting that the traffic signal activation cycle on Asbury be reprogrammed to delay 10 –
20 seconds after receiving a signal that a vehicle is on Asbury.

In his request, Mr. Hartmann states the traffic signal on Asbury trips immediately as vehicles
pull up to the intersection on Forsyth. He is requesting a delay of 10 – 20 seconds after
receiving a signal that a vehicle is on Asbury before cycling. Mr. Hartmann states that a
delay would improve traffic flow on Forsyth.

Public Works will review this issue with St. Louis County to determine if this adjustment can
be accomplished. Public Works will also evaluate what impact the change might have on
pedestrian traffic, especially since there is significant pedestrian traffic during school days for
Lady of our Lourdes School children. As a result of heavy use by school aged children, the
pedestrian crossing signal is phased to stops all traffic at this intersection when activated.

5.
