1. Mark the pavement at the intersection of Big Bend/Pershing area with a “Do Not Block
Intersection”.
2. Delineate the lanes turning left and right with their respective arrow, on Pershing east bound,
before Big Bend Blvd.
3. Start the third lane that turns left into Forest Park Pwy on Big Bend south bound, before Forest
Park Pwy, after the Big Bend/Pershing intersection.
4. Paint pavement markings delineating the two lanes turning left (east bound) and turning right
(west bound) with broken white lines on Forest Park Pwy, for east and west bound traffic driving
towards Big Bend Blvd.

In April 2008, Metro will install a new exit from the Williams Pharmacy parking lot area to Forest Park
Parkway. The new entrance should alleviate this issue.

Big Bend Blvd and Forest Park Pwy are under St.Louis County’s Jurisdiction. Any recommendation
regarding these streets must be forwarded to the County for their review/approval.

Public Works recommends that this request be tabled until William Pharmacy Entrance/Exit is
constructed after which Public Works will determine whether the improvements alleviated the issue.

7. Change Lindell Blvd. from a one-way to a two-way street from Forsyth Blvd. to
approximately 120 feet north of Forsyth Blvd.
The area around the intersection of Lindell and Forsyth is highly commercial. The parking lot located at
the intersection of Lindell Blvd. Forsyth Blvd is under reconstruction. The new parking lot will have just
one entrance/exit facing Lindell Blvd.

Currently, Lindell Blvd. is a one way street from Asbury Ave. to Forsyth Blvd. However, due to the
access of the parking lot at the north-west corner of Lindell and Forsyth, drivers usually turn illegally
from Forsyth onto Lindell.

Public Works recommends that Lindell Blvd. be a two-way street from Forsyth Blvd. to approximately
120 feet north of Forsyth Blvd. and that a barricade be installed at the 120 ft distance on Lindell north of
Forsyth Blvd to separate the two-way Lindell Blvd section from the one-way Lindell Blvd. section. This
will prevent drivers from continuing in the wrong direction and will visually separate the residential
portion of Lindell Blvd. from the commercial area.

Public Works is notifying the residents and businesses in the 7300 block of Lindell and Forsyth Blvd. of
the proposed changes. Comments from the residents/business owners will be considered at the
March 12, 2008 Traffic Commission Meeting.

Let us know if we should widen the notification area to residents or businesses beyond the 7300 block
of Lindell and along Forsyth.

8. Approval of Minutes – November 14, 2007, December 12, 2007 and January 9, 2008 meeting.

Cc: Evelyn Shields-Benford, Director of Public Works
Major Ernest Green, Police Department
Lehman Walker, Director of Planning Department
Robert Wagner, Council Liaison

Agenda Traffic Commission Meeting February 13, 2008 Page
4
