Mrs. Button states that Washington University employees park on the street for the entire day, which
does not allow customers to park along the street. She is aware of the renovation of the parking lot at
the corner of Lindell and Forsyth.

Currently there is a one-hour parking restriction (between the hours of nine a.m. and six p.m. on any
day) for the building at the north-east corner of Forsyth and Lindell (7335-37 Forsyth). There are two
businesses in the building: Forsyth Cleaners and Casa-dilla (food delivery).

Public Works recommends that parking be restricted for two hours in front of 7359 Lindell for a distance
of 60 feet.

Ms. Catherine Button attended the January’s Traffic commission but there was no quorum. Mariela
Tapia explained that one or two hour parking restrictions will be more effective than customer parking
signs. Ms. Button agreed with the suggestion and she will attend the next meeting in February.

4. Request for no parking signs to be Installed in front of 7023 Forsyth driveway.

On December 19, 2007, Rev. Andrew Benko, submitted a traffic request form. He is requesting that
parking be prohibited at the corner of his driveway at 7023 Forsyth Ave. and that the appropriate signs
be installed indicating the restriction. He indicated that signs are needed to prevent vehicles from
blocking his driveway.

This item was discussed during January’s meeting. Sgt. King suggested that Reverend Benko notify
the Police each time a vehicle parks and blocks his driveway. This will provide documentation on the
severity of the problem.

Reverend Benko contacted the Public Works Department and requested that this item be tabled until
the next traffic meeting scheduled for March 12, 2008 in order to have more documentation to present
to the commissioners.

5. Parking restriction on North and South Rd from Delmar Blvd to Gannon Ave.

To improve traffic flow on the St.Louis County’s secondary road network in light of the closure of I-
64/40, St. Louis County implemented No Parking restrictions on both sides of North and South Rd from
Delmar Blvd to Gannon Ave stating parking restrictions between the hours of seven a.m. and nine a.m.
and between the hours of 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday. St. Louis County has jurisdiction over
North & South Road, north of Delmar.

In order for the Police Department to enforce this parking restriction, the municipal code must be
amended.

Public Works will contact the businesses/residents in the affected area including North & South Rd
between Delmar Blvd. and Gannon Ave. to notify them of the change and provide an opportunity for
their input. Let us know if we should widen the notification area beyond the 600 block of North & South
Rd.

6. Pershing Ave and Big Bend Blvd Intersection.

On January 28, 2008, the Public Works department received a Traffic Request from Mr. Thomas A.
Poelker, a resident at 7237 Princeton Ave., requesting that the City improve traffic control at the
intersection of Pershing Ave. and Big Bend Blvd.

He indicated that there is substantial traffic conflict for drivers exiting the parking lot located between
Forest Park Pwy and Pershing Ave at Big Bend Blvd. He suggested the following:

Agenda Traffic Commission Meeting February 13, 2008 Page
3
