FYI –Centennial Greenway on Melville Avenue - Construction Update <br /> <br />Construction Crews are underway with the construction of the Centennial Greenway from Kingsbury <br />to Delmar on Melville. The scope of the construction work has required some roadways to be <br />temporarily closed. Detours and alternate routes have been established to afford as much access to <br />the area as possible and still allow enough space for construction. <br />To foster a safety pedestrian and vehicular traffic on Melville during the construction of the project, <br />the speed limit on Melville from Kingsbury to Delmar will be reduced from 25 mph to 15 mph. The <br />area will also be designated as a Work Zone. Ordinance Amending Chapter 10.04.060 MOTOR <br />VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC GENERALLY, Section 10.04.060 - Temporary traffic regulations and <br />administrative authority, will be presented to City Council on November 8, 2010. <br /> <br />Construction Update: <br />Location: <br /> West side of Melville from Kingsbury to 400 feet north of Delmar <br />Schedule: <br /> Construction is currently on schedule to be completed March/April 2011 <br />Scope: <br /> <br /> <br />Complete <br /> Demolition of sidewalk and parking lane () <br /> <br /> Construction of a 14-foot-wide pedestrian/bicycle trail (in process) <br /> <br /> New street trees and street lighting <br /> <br /> New signalized pedestrian crosswalk at Delmar <br /> <br /> New pedestrian plaza on north side of Delmar <br /> <br />9. FYI – Olive Streetscape Project Phase III – Request to eliminate pedestrian crossing on <br />Olive Boulevard west of Hanley Road <br /> <br />As part of a federal funded project, The City of University City is upgrading sidewalks and ADA <br />facilities on Olive Boulevard, within City limits, including the curb ramps at the intersection of Olive <br />Blvd at Hanley Road. A proposal was submitted to the City from the Missouri Department of <br />Transportation (MoDOT), Senior Highway Designer, Heather Copeland, to eliminate the west <br />crossing on Olive Blvd at Hanley Road. <br /> <br />St.Louis County reviewed the above mentioned proposal from MoDOT; The County did not find any <br />opposition to it.
