CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY MINUTES OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING ON OCTOBER 09, 2002 Acting Chairperson Melcine Henderson called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. Those present were: Raymond Creer Shelley Welsch, Council Liaison Melcine Henderson Tim Moffitt, Public Works Department Erin Shocklee Mariela Tapia, Traffic Commission Secretary Elizabeth Schiller Loretta Bryant 1) Approval of the minutes from the September 11, 2002 meeting The commission voted unanimously to approve the minutes. 2) Parking on both sides of Forsyth BACKGROUND INFORMATION: ? The City Manager considers that maybe its time to allow parking on both sides of Forsyth. This might even encourage drivers to go another way. ? The Engineering Division sent invitations to the residents to give their opinion about this matter and stated the parking information for Forsyth Blvd according to the Municipal Code. DISCUSSION: ? Some of the residents (Msgr. Ed Sudekum, Suzanne Lauberth, Peggy Stevens and Edna Stevens) were present in the meeting and stated strongly that they wanted to keep the parking prohibition the way it is. The Commission took no action on this issue at this time. No Parking Signs on the north side of University Dr near Jackson Ave. 3) BACKGROUND INFORMATION: ? A Traffic Request Form, dated August 13, 2002, was submitted by Jeffrey A. Thompson, president of Saddle & Bridle. He requested to remove the actual “no parking until 11:00 a.m.” signs on the north side of University Dr near Jackson Ave due to several acts of vandalism to employee cars parked on the South side of University Dr. ?
