CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY MINUTES OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING ON NOVEMBER 13, 2002 Acting chairperson Susan Schafers called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. Those present were: Raymond Creer Melcine Henderson Elizabeth Proost Mariela Tapia, Traffic Commission Secretary Elizabeth Schiller Tim Moffitt, Public Works Department Lt. Roger Spearman 1) Approval of the minutes from the October 09, 2002 meeting The commission voted unanimously to approve the minutes. 2) Stop Signs at Wild Cherry. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: ? A Traffic Request Form, dated September 11, 2002, was submitted by Ruth Levy. She is requestingStop Signs for eastbound Wild Plum at Wild Cherry, eastbound Peach Tree at Wild Cherry, and eastbound Burr Oak at Wild Cherry. Also, she is requesting stop signs for westbound Peach Tree at Wild Cherry. ? Is the recommendation of the Engineering Division, subject to the approval of the Public Works Director, to post Yield Signs for eastbound Burr Oak and Wild Plum at Wild Cherry Lane. DISCUSSION: ? Present were Mr. and Mrs. Levy. Mrs. Levy was concerned for children playing in the streets. She stated that cars ignore the Yield Sign posted on Wild Cherry. She said that cars come at good speed off North and South to Peach Tree and from Wild Plum and Burr Oak to Wild Cherry. ? According to the Police Department records, there are no reported accidents at the intersection of Peach Tree and Wild Cherry for the last three years. The Commission voted unanimously to post Yield Signs for eastbound Burr Oak and Wild Plum at Wild Cherry Lane To Prohibit Parking on a Portion of Hayes Ave. 3) BACKGROUND INFORMATION: ? A Traffic Request Form, dated September 30, 2002, was submitted by Gordon Webb, owner of FTS Delivery, Inc. He is requesting to prohibit parking on the east and west sides of Hayes, from its intersection at Olive for 60 feet to the north.
