Traffic Commission Minutes
November 13, 2002

?
The Engineering Division recommends to prohibit parking on the east and west
sides of Hayes, from its intersection at Olive for 60 feet.

DISCUSSION:
?
There was Mr. Webb, present to speak. Due to cars parked on Hayes Ave in its
intersection with Olive Blvd, the tractor/trailers have difficulty traveling westbound
on Olive, turning north onto Hayes and as a consequence, his corner fence has
been destroyed a number of times.

The Commission voted to prohibit parking on the east and west sides of Hayes,
north from its intersection at Olive for 60 feet.

4) Blackberry Place

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
?
A Traffic Request Form, dated October 15, 2002 was submitted by Jacquelyn
Abernathy. She is requesting at least 6 speed bumps to cut down the speed and
help deter traffic on Blackberry Place. Also, she is requesting more lights in the
street to deter lovers.

DISCUSSION:
?
Jacquelyn Abernathy was present and expressed her concerns.
?
The Commissioners explained that speed bumps are not a solution anymore
since they are hazardous for the Police and the Fire Departments. The Police
can monitor the speed. For the lights, she should make the request to the Public
Works Department.

The Commission took no action on this since none of these are Traffic Commission
matters.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.

Minutes prepared by Mariela Tapia, Secretary of the Traffic Commission and Tim
Moffitt, Public Works representative.
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2002\Minutes 11-13-02.doc
