6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, MO 63130 Phone: 314-862-6767, Fax: (314) 862-0694 CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY MINUTES OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING ON September 10, 2003 Acting chairperson Susan Schafers called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m. Those present were: Melcine Henderson Raymond Creer Elizabeth Schiller Mariela Tapia, Traffic Commission Secretary Residents and business owners were present representing the 7000 and 7200 block of Pershing Ave. and Appleton Drive. 1.Restrict parking during business hours on Pershing from Big Bend to first driveway, south side. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On June 10, 2003 a Traffic Request Form was submitted by phone from Ms. Dilschneider to the City Manager requesting to restrict parking during business hours on Pershing from Bid Bend to first Driveway on south side (area between Big Bend and the businesses entrance that allows to park 3 cars). Since September 2002, there is a Parking Prohibition on 7000 block of Pershing Ave. from 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except by Residential Permit. The sign is posted at the First Home after the businesses southbound and at the intersection with Big Bend northbound. A Traffic Request Form from Molly Edler (resident at 7011 Pershing Ave.) dated rd September 3, requested to maintain the current parking permit system as well as the traffic barrier at the east end of the block. This issue was previously discussed on July, 2003 Traffic commission meeting. Notice letters were sent to residents and business owners affected by the request.
