Traffic Commission Minutes
September 10, 2003

?Other residents at the 7200 block of Pershing agreed not to install any parking

prohibition.

The Commission voted to deny the request regarding “No Parking” on north
side of 7200 block of Pershing Ave (from Wellesley to 100 feet west of
Rossi).

nd
3.No Parking at Intersection 82 Blvd and Appleton Dr.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
A Traffic Request Form was submitted by Marcus Hightower, on July 3, 2003. He is
nd
requesting a “NO PARKING” area at the southeast corner of 82 Blvd and Appleton Dr.
intersection.

This restriction is established at the Municipal Code. Therefore, is the recommendation
of the Engineering Division to install signs displaying, “no parking from here to corner”
nd
at the 82 Blvd and Appleton Dr. intersection.

DISCUSSION:
?Present were Marcus Hightower. He explain that it is very difficult to turn south on

nd
82 from east Appleton, since there is no safety sight distance. Cars parked on
nd
south east corner of the intersection, along 82 Blvd, block the visibility.
?Mr. Hightower insisted that cars parked on that area are going to be very difficult to

remove since they have been parking there for years.
?Mr. Raymond Creer agree with Mr. Hightower regarding the visibility at the

nd
intersection. It is very difficult to turn left on 82 from westbound Appleton.
?Traffic Commission members explain that cars violating the code will receive traffic

tickets.

The Commission voted to install signs displaying, “no parking from here to
nd
corner” at the 82 Blvd and Appleton Dr. intersection.

4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE July 9, 2003 MEETING

The commission voted unanimously to approve the minutes.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.

Minutes prepared by Mariela Tapia, Secretary of the Traffic Commission
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2003\Minutes 09-10-03.doc
