Six residents from the 6500 block of Corbitt were present to address this matter. In addition to the approval of the residents on the 6500 block of Corbitt Ave (who initiated the request) there are other residents affected. From them, we received 5 responses against the request and 2 in favor. There are two police accident reports in the area (from year 2000 to 2003), which are summarized as follows: ? August 5, 2000 the report refers to a bicycle striking a vehicle. ? August 31, 2002 the report refers to a parked car that was damaged by a driver who left the scene. Traffic counts verified that the majority of the traffic goes westbound (approximately 60%), the majority of the motorists will be inconvenienced if the street is changed to one-way going east. The average daily traffic is 450 cars which is not an excessive amount compared with other residential streets of the same size. On a one-way street, motorists tend to speed. The width of the street on the 6500 block of Corbitt is the average width for residential streets in University City.
