Page 2
Traffic Meeting Minutes
July 14, 2004

The affected residents were notified and were invited to attend the July 14, 2004 traffic
meeting.

Manhattan is a two way avenue and there is a parking prohibition all along the west side of
the street. There is a parking prohibition on the east side of the street, two signs are
installed: one located at 35 feet south of Forsyth and another located 100 feet south of
Forsyth.

Mr. Mehlman was present and expressed that there will be more room for future visitors to
park and there will be enough visibility for the cars to turn.

Mr. Mark Grimaldi is the property owner and resident at 7283 Northmoor Drive. He was
present at the meeting and expressed that he is not opposed to the request.

Mr. Jose Molina is the property owner of the 7280 Forsyth building. He was present and
he expressed his support of the request to remove the sign located 100 feet south of
Forsyth.

The Traffic Commissioners voted unanimously to recommend the removal of the
no parking sign located 100 feet south of Forsyth on the east side of Manhattan.

3.Four Way stop for Washington-Kingsland Intersection.

Mr. Chris Creighton, resident at 6950 Washington Ave. requested that the intersection at
Washington and Kingsland be a “Four Way Stop” instead of a two way stop.

A Three or Four-Way stop intersection may be justified by its accident pattern. If five (5)
or more “right and left” turn collisions (or right angle collisions) have occurred during the
past 12 months, this type of control may be justified.

Since November, 2003; four (4) “right and left” turn collisions have occurred at the
intersection. Police accidents reports will be forwarded to the Traffic Commissioners.
Commissioners agreed that this is an unsafe intersection.

This issue was tabled until the September meeting.

4.No Parking for Designated hours at Washington and Trinity.

Pam Schmidt, resident at 6901 Washington Ave. requested that the existing “5 minute
parking signs from 11 a.m. to noon on school days” be changed to “NO Parking signs from
11 a.m. to noon on school days”. She also requested for the signs to be changed before
September 7, 2004. The signs are located on the west side of Trinity just north of
Washington Ave.
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2004\Minutes 7-14-04.doc
