FOR REVIEW AND COMMENTS:

5.Residential Parking Permit System to be implemented in areas near future Metro

Link Stations

This information was reviewed during the September 14, 2005 meeting. For this
meeting, no additional comments were provided.

6.Options for Creating parking on Loop North

The City provided the Traffic Commissioners with information regarding seven
options for creating parking on Loop North. This information was reviewed during
September 14, 2005 meeting.

During this meeting, the Traffic Commissioners reached a quorum and decided that
no changes should be made to Loop North.

7.Changes for Traffic Signal on Delmar-Midland

Ms. Jamie Riley Kolsky was present to talk about her request. She explained that
she would like for the City to support her request to the County for changes in the
traffic signal at Delmar-Midland intersection. For vehicles traveling eastbound
Delmar, and turning northbound Midland, there is a left turn lane that holds
approximately 5 cars. Currently, the signal indicates “left turn yield on green”.
She would like for the signal to be changed to “left on left arrow only”.

Ms. Kolsky indicated that there are a lot of pedestrians in the area. Pedestrians
would be able to cross safely at Midland when the “walk” signal shows “walk”.
Residents would see traffic slow down on Midland, which is residential north of
Delmar.

Ms. Kolsky mentioned that at the end of September, 2005 she and other members
of her family were crossing Midland during the weekend, around 8:00 p.m. They
were crossing with the pedestrian crosswalk signal. A car traveling east on Delmar
made a left hand turn to go northbound on Midland. The car did have a green
light, but did not respect the priority of the pedestrian signal and almost hit her
daughter.

V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2005\Minutes 11-9-05.doc
