Page 3 - Minutes <br />April 12, 2006 <br /> <br />Gannon from North & South to the alley just east of North & South is 36 feet wide. There <br />are three parking meters on the south side, from North & South to the alley. The street <br />narrows to 25 feet east of the alley up to Bemiston Avenue. <br /> <br />The commissioners stated that the residents may consider: <br />?Residential parking permits to be implemented in the residential area. With the <br /> <br />residential parking permit system, public parking is restricted on the street for a <br />maximum period of nine hours daily. <br /> <br />?Prohibit parking on the north or south side of the street from the alley to Bemiston <br /> <br />Avenue. <br /> <br />For any option to be implemented, a petition should be presented to the traffic <br />commissioners and should be signed by at least 75% of the affected residents in the block. <br /> <br />This request will be further discussed at the next traffic meeting which is scheduled for <br />May, 2006. <br /> <br />5. Stop sign for the Raymond and Pennsylvania intersection. <br /> <br />Virgia Daniels, property owner of 6924 Raymond, and her mother were present to speak. <br />The residents are requesting that a stop sign be placed on the north corner of the <br />Raymond and Pennsylvania intersection. <br /> <br />Ms. Schafers explained that Pennsylvania is a major arterial and vehicles should stop on <br />Raymond before entering Pennsylvania. Currently, there is an existing stop sign on <br />Raymond at Pennsylvania. Raymond is a one-way street going west from Purcell to <br />Pennsylvania. <br /> <br />Both residents stated that there is a visibility problem at the intersection. <br /> <br />The traffic commissioners voted for “No parking from here to corner” signs to be placed at <br />the Raymond and Pennsylvania intersection. <br /> <br />6. Residential Parking Permit for Maryland and Westmoreland. <br /> <br />Mark Leeker and three other representatives from Maryland Terrace were present to speak. <br />They requested the implementation of the residential parking permit system from the 7000 <br />to 7200 block of Maryland (as far west as Asbury) and from the 7000 to the 7200 block of <br />Westmoreland (excluding the 7200 block of Westmoreland west of Forest Park Parkway). <br />The restricted time is from 7am to noon and from 7pm to 11pm daily.
