Page 3 - Minutes
June 14, 2006

The commissioners indicated that installation of a traffic signal to allow motorists to

?
enter westbound FPP from the driveway is a possible solution. The signal should be
synchronized with the signal at the FPP/Big Bend intersection to avoid delays for
westbound FPP traffic.

5.Speed limit on Forest Park Parkway

The commissioners reviewed this issue and recommended that the speed limit of 35
mph be maintained on Forest Park Parkway from the east City limits to the west City
limits.

Pedestrians using the crosswalk (at Williams), accessing the tunnel (at Wellesley)
or catching the bus at the stops along FPP will have to deal with motorist driving at
speeds higher than 40 mph. Most of the pedestrians are kids going to Flynn
Park Elementary School and/or Our Lady of Lourdes School.

Also, the intersection of FPP with Williams and Big Bend will be highly transited by
pedestrians because of the metro link station at Big Bend.

Lieutenant Deken, stated that he would not recommend that the speed limit be
increased to 40 mph along FPP in any areas east of Pershing Ave. in U. City.

6.Approval of Minutes for May 10, 2006 meeting

The minutes were unanimously approved.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:50 p. m.

Minutes prepared by Mariela Tapia, Traffic Commission Secretary

V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2006\Minutes 6-14-06.doc
