5.Public Works requests the traffic commission to review the proposal on the

Red Light Camera Enforcement Program.

Public Works requests that you review the sheet provided regarding the installation of
Red Light Cameras at some of the City’s most dangerous intersections. We would like
input from the commission on this topic.

Mrs. Mariela Tapia from the public works department gave an overview of the Red
Light Camera Enforcement Program. This program is set up to catch motorists
running red lights (via camera) in the major intersections within our city. Srg. King
thought there could be an issue with police staff to perform this task. The
commissioners stated to check with the other cities that are using this and get
back reports on the success or not. Srg. King also stated concerns of whether or
not the driver is responsible or the vehicle. Commissioner Patterson doesn’t feel
that this would be difficult administratively for the police department. The
commissioners decided to wait 6 months and check with Clayton and Arnold to see
how there programs are going.

6.Purdue Bridge.

Public works is currently reviewing plans on the conversion of Purdue Bridge to a
pedestrian bridge. We would like your input regarding the traffic control plan involving
this project.

The traffic commission will review the traffic control plan once public works has
received a copy.

7.Approval of Minutes for November, 2006 meeting

The traffic commission approved the minutes from November, 2006.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p. m.

Minutes prepared by Eric Husman, Right of Way Manager

V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\minutes\2007\Minutes 4-11-07.doc
