Mariela explained that it is unlawful for the operator of a vehicle to stop, stand or park in front of a
private or public driveway but there is no ordinance restricting parking within a specific distance
from a driveway entrance.
Councilmember Wagner suggested that the parking area in front of 7023 Forsyth be restricted to 1
parking space rather than 2 parking spaces.
Rev. Benko preferred a less prohibitive measure such as installing signs or painting the curb.
Mariela explained that it is against the City’s policy to paint curb for maintenance reasons and that
signs may be inadequate considering that there are many driveways along Forsyth that have the
same problem.
Sgt. King suggested that Reverend Benko notify the Police each time he has to deal with this
problem and that way it is documented for at least a month prior to February’s meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
Minutes prepared by Mariela Tapia, Engineering Manager
Minutes – January 9, 2008 Page
3

V:\WP51\ENGINEERING DIVISION\Public Works- Traffic Commission\Traffic Commission\minutes\2008\Minutes 1-09-08.doc
