<br /> <br />6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, MO 63130 <br />Phone: 314-505-8560, Fax: (314) 862-0694 <br /> <br />CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MINUTES OF THE TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />July 9, 2008 <br /> <br />Greg Patterson called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Those members present were: <br /> <br />. Donnie Robinson <br />. Hyla Bondareff <br />. Paulette Smith <br />. Morton Hyman <br />. Sgt King (U City Police Department), <br />. Arthur Sharpe, Jr (Future Council Liaison) <br />. Angelica Gutierrez (Traffic Commission Liaison-U City Public Works Department). <br /> <br />Residents/property owners present were: <br /> <br />. Delois Buckley - resident and home owner at 7387 Liberty Ave. <br /> <br />Before any item was discussed, Council member Arthur Sharpe Jr. and the commissioners were <br />introduced, since this was the first meeting for Mr. Sharpe as a Council Liaison for the Traffic <br />Commission. <br /> <br />1. ParkinQ Restriction for 8516 Olive Blvd <br /> <br />This item was discussed on the June 11, 2008 meeting, Public Works is reviewing the possibility of a one- <br />hour parking restriction being implemented in the rear of the property for five (5) of the parking spaces to <br />address the businesses' customer parking needs. <br /> <br />Mr. Paterson explained that Public Works Department considers that all businesses along the complete <br />length of the alley (8400 and 8500 blocks of Olive Blvd), should be contacted and have a survey of their <br />needs. Also, Public Work is considering the installation of parking meters in order to help maintain the <br />parking area in good conditions. <br /> <br />After information is collected, this item will be in the agenda for the September 2008 meeting, to allow <br />time for the businesses to reply to notice that Public Works will be sending in July 2008. <br /> <br />Mr. Paterson requested to second the motion to present this item to the agenda for the September's <br />meeting, to allow time for the businesses to reply their comments to the Public works Department. <br />The Commissioners voted unanimously for this request to be approved. <br /> <br />2. ChanQe the 7300 block of Liberty Ave to be one-way street from PaQe Ave to Hanley Ave. <br /> <br />Mr. Patterson introduced this item explaining that more data will need to be collected and presented to <br />Public Works to determine feasibility of this request. <br /> <br />Sgt.
