<br />. Accident pattern: If five or more right or left turn collisions have occurred during the past 12 <br />months, this type of control may be justified. Only 2 accidents reported in the last 3 years. <br />. Interim measure to control traffic while a signal is being installed - Do not apply for this case. <br />. Volume of traffic: If at least 500 vehicles enter the intersection from all approaches per hour for <br />any 8 hours of an average day; and If 85% of the vehicles are approaching the intersection on the <br />main road at more than 40 miles per hour, when there is an average of 350 vehicles entering the <br />intersection per hour. - Average daily records: 272 vehicles - Less than 500. <br /> <br />Mr. Paterson asked if UCPD would have any inconvenient collecting more traffic count data and Sgt. King <br />he does not see a problem with that. <br /> <br />Mrs. Bondareff asked for alternative solutions and Mrs. Gutierrez explained that additional signage could <br />be installed on Julian Ave. such as "Stop sign ahead" or "Traffic does not stop", but these types of sign <br />would not help slow down traffic on Purcell Ave. <br /> <br />Sgt. King expressed that this is not a heavy volume intersection and also he prefers not to be missing that <br />many accidents on that intersection as stated by Mr. Flanburg. <br /> <br />After analysis and consideration was given to the results provided by UCPD, and in accordance with the <br />amount of signatures collected by Mr. Flansburg, Mr. Robinson moved to send the recommendation to <br />City Council to install 4-way Stop Sign on Purcell Ave at Julian Ave, seconded and approved bv a 3-2 <br />marain. <br /> <br />4. ParkinQ Restriction for 8516 Olive Blvd <br /> <br />Mr. Patterson described item to restrict parking on the Crixdale Alley. Oludare Falako, business manager <br />at 8430 Olive Blvd was present to explain the request. <br /> <br />Mr. Falako stated that not so many businesses responded to the letter sent by the City, and was in <br />disagreement with parking meters being installed at the alley, explaining that it would be an inconvenient <br />for customers to feed meters and take business somewhere else. <br /> <br />Mrs. Gutierrez explained the results from the survey as follows: <br /> <br />Total of notices sent in July 3dh 26 <br />Responded by Sep 1st 5 <br /> <br />Results of 5 responses Yes NO No <br /> opinion <br />Satisfied with the amount of parking provided for customers 20% 80% 0% <br />Parking area in good condition for customers parking 60% 40% 0% <br />Installation of Parking Meters 60% 20% 20% <br />One hour parking restriction to allow parking for specific businesses 20% 60% 0% <br /> <br />Mr. Patterson moved to restrict parking in the existing alley behind businesses in the 8400 and 8500 <br />blocks of Olive Blvd for one hour from 9:00 a.rn. to 6:00 p.rn., Monday thru Saturday starting in a point <br />580 feet from Coolidge drive for a distance of 175 feet to the west, seconded by Ms. Nichols and <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />5.
