ii) Add an additional crosswalk across Delmar on the west side of Big Bend (to have direct
access to Metrolink platform) and for the signal to be coordinated as an “all way stop”.

Commissioner Brot asked Mr. Cannon for his opinion from the Traffic Engineers point of view on
this matter, and he responded that, St.Louis County takes into account vehicular traffic versus
pedestrian traffic and set up traffic light configuration to achieve a balance. For all County roads,
that are four legged intersections, there are three pedestrian crossings, and for three legged
intersections there are two pedestrian crossings.

Officer Margul explained the University City program that patrols pedestrian crossing throughout
the city, with an undercover officer using a pedestrian crossing, and if vehicles fail to yield to
pedestrians, undercover officer will radio another officer to issue the violation ticket.

Ms. Gutierrez explained that if request is sent to the County, the request is sent to “Evaluate” the
current conditions and problems observed/reported, and County will provide their best suitable
recommendation/solution. Mr. Cannon added that is better when request is sent to the County
stating clearly the problems, instead of requesting solutions.

Commissioner Smith made a motion to notify the County about this pedestrian concern at the
intersection of Delmar Blvd and Big Bend Blvd, seconded by Commissioner Nichols and
unanimously approved.

c) Request to restrict parking on the south side of Delmar Blvd west of McKnight Place.
Nick Walker, representing One McKnight Place, presented the request to restrict parking on
the south side of Delmar from McKnight Place to the existing bus stop to the west, to
improve visibility.

Commissioner Smith made a motion to notify the County about parking restriction on Delmar Blvd,
west of McKnight Place, seconded by Commissioner Nichols and unanimously approved.

3. Other

Mr. Billy Wegener was present to observe how the Traffic Commission works and explained his
concern about connection between North and South and Hanley, and Ms. Gutierrez stated she will
send Traffic Request Form via email to Mr. Wegener, for him to submit to the traffic Commission
and be discussed at a future meeting.

4.
