There have been 10 accidents at that
intersection over the last three years.
Officer Margul noted that a permanent stop sign cannot be placed there because currently
there is no enabling ordinance.
Commissioner Brot moved a motion to install a stop sign at the requested location,
seconded by Commissioner Bondareff. Commissioner Brot amended the motion to
recommend to the University City - City Council that an ordinance be passed to add a stop
sign on Enright Avenue where it meets Westgate Avenue, seconded by Mr. Womack and
unanimously approved.
5. Other

Mr. David Goodbary commented that he has recently purchased a home on Crest Avenue
and frequents the Schnucks on Olive Boulevard, and when turning left from Olive
Boulevard onto Ferguson Avenue, he is required to wait for a quite long protected left turn
signal, which he feels could be improved if the sign was changed to yield on green, rather
than its current configuration.
Commissioner Brot explained that Sutter Meyer House will open as a museum on May 1,
2011, which is accessed from the intersection of Olive Blvd. and Ferguson Ave., traveling
east on Olive Blvd and turning left onto Ferguson (northbound), which may increase the
traffic movement that Mr. Goodbary is looking to have improved.
The signal is operated by the state, and the resident was instructed to give his contact info
to the Public Works Department, and the City will look into the situation.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:00 p.m.
Minutes prepared by Angelica Gutierrez, Public Works Liaison
Traffic Commission Minutes – April 13, 2011 Page 3
