SESSION 17O6 <br /> <br />/ INI ES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />SEPTEMBER 22, 1997 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chamber <br />of City Hall on Monday, September 22, 1997, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting <br />to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council <br />were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardy Ware <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul E. Schoomer <br /> <br />ABSENT: Mr. Robert Wagner was excused, being out of the country. Also present was <br />City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Ware moved approval of the minutes of September 8, 1997. Mr. Lieberman <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE: <br /> <br />The following new or reappointed members of the City's boards or commissions were <br />given the oath of office by the City Clerk: Ben $enturia-Park Commission and R. Gordon <br />Myers - Pension Boards. <br /> <br />The Mayor thanked both Mr. Senturia and Mr. Myers for the wish to serve the City on <br />these important boards/commissions. Mayor Adams said that the work of citizens in this <br />capacity truly helped the City to function well. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION TO MRS. BETTY THOMPSON: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said it was his distinct pleasure to welcome the new 72nd District State <br />Representative and former University City Councilmember, Betty Thompson, to the <br />meeting this evening. He said that it had been a tradition to award former <br />Councilmembers a lifetime pass to the City's park facilities to thank them for their <br />service. He would like to do so now for Mrs. Thompson, for her long and dedicated <br />service to University City. (Applause) <br /> <br />Mrs. Thompson said that she was proud of her work on the Council during her fifteen <br /> <br /> <br />
