The central core fire departments that have <br />been participating in this discussion are; Brentwood, Clayton, Crestwood, Des <br />Peres, Frontenac, Glendale, Kirkwood, Ladue, Maplewood, Olivette, Richmond <br />Heights, Rock Hill, Shrewsbury, Webster Groves, and University City. I’ve <br />attached the overview currently under discussion by the administration of each <br />municipality listed above. There has been no definitive conversation of timeline or <br />cost to complete a study. I will not officially participate on behalf of University <br />Citywithout the consent of the majority of elected officials. However, I would like <br /> <br />to stay involved in the discussion with the other communities. Should the union <br />decide to proceed independently, information would be made available under the <br />Sunshine Law. When the issue is ready for discussion, I will bring it before you <br />in a Study Session or Council Meeting format. <br /> <br />Just as a reminder, staff will gladly reuse and recycle your paper clips and <br />envelopes if you bring them back to City Hall. –Thank you. <br /> <br />And it is worth stating again: I look forward to seeing you all out this weekend! <br />Friday, September 1 (7pm) <br />In cooperation with the University City Historical Society, a free showing of the <br />independent video University City: The First Century, U. City Library, 6701 <br />Delmar. <br /> <br />Saturday, September 2 (6-10pm) <br />Centennial Gala to benefit the heirloom gardens at City Hall. There will be music, <br />dancing, “great eats”, whimsical floral-themes, silent and live auctions, a <br />spectacular view of the evening cityscape, and (weather-permitting) an <br />appearance by the City Hall Searchlight. <br /> <br />Saturday, September 2 (10-3pm) Sutter Meyer House, Chamberlain Ct. <br />There will be an "Open House" at the Dig at Sutter-Meyer House. 3-4 excavation <br />units open, a display of artifacts found to date, screening of dirt, washing of <br />artifacts, etc. The house will not be open, but the public is welcome. <br /> <br />Sunday, September 3 (Noon-4pm) <br />The Centennial Parade <br /> Noon starts at Midland and Delmar and <br /> ends on the parking lot behind City Hall. Complete with <br /> vintage fire trucks and cars, marching bands, the Dalmation <br /> Formation Drill Team. <br /> <br />The Annual Fire Department Open House <br />Noon-4pm includes Fire <br />Safety House, Air Evac LifeTeam helicopter, ladder truck <br />and rappelling demonstrations, water games, raffles, <br />refreshments and the St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders. <br /> <br />Dedication of the Edward Gardner Lewis <br />1pm <br />Commemorative Marker. <br /> <br /> <br />
